Vertex BD: Building Information Modeler For the Architectural Industry

VERTEX BD is a revolutionary new software solution for building and architectural applications. It is the most powerful design and estimating software ever offered for the building market.

VERTEX BD is built using the latest object based, solid modelling and parametric design technologies.

VERTEX BD uses real building elements to model the design in ever y detail, exactly as it will be built. It’s unparalleled power and flexibility make it easy and productive to create designs with better accuracy and higher quality than ever before. This integrated building model generates detailed drawings, renderings and precise material estimates. Your sales, design and construction operations will work in harmony and with correct information.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
VERTEX BD includes the most powerful architectural and 3D design tools with feature-based building objects and a fast plan drawing application. With VERTEX BD, you can design anything either as plan drawings or as real 3D models. You can work simultaneously in 2D and 3D, in any projection or in any elevation view. Doors, windows, furniture and other fittings can be inserted in the 2D plan or in the axonometric or perspective view of the 3D model. You can quickly switch between models and drawings even in the middle of an operation. VERTEX BD combines the best of both working methods and lets you choose your way between the easy operation in 2D plans together with the unlimited power and flexibility of a complete 3D design system.

VISUAL DESIGN TOOLS
With VERTEX BD you can quickly define the building using the parametric components and parametric building structures. Detailed representations of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings and other building components will be created automatically based on your specifications. Everything can be instantly seen in an easy-to-understand visual 3D model. High quality renderings can be created without any additional work for marketing presentations and to help in making the design decisions.

AUTOMATIC BUILDING OPTIONS
VERTEX BD includes a unique application that allows the design of buildings with optional structures and optional materials in one integrated building model and database. VERTEX BD manages all the architectural and material information, and produces the engineering documentation and estimates required for the construction and manufacturing of buildings with specific option selections. This enables the automated and efficient processing of custom orders with options, and greatly simplifies the revision management and maintenance of your house model library.

MATERIALS AND ESTIMATING
Material take-offs can be generated instantaneously at any time during the design process based on the current status of the plans. The cost of materials and labour is merged from the item data base to the material take-off to produce accurate estimates for cost comparisons and budgeting. Once the design is complete, the final and accurate material take-off, cutting lists and any other required reports can be produced automatically. Material take-offs are instantly updated when changes and modifications are made to the plans. VERTEX BD is the most efficient system in the market to produce the complete building information including both the plans and material information in an integrated manner. The result is better designs, improved quality and control, lower costs and higher profits.

WALL FRAMING
VERTEX BD generates the wall framing components automatically based on the wall layout of the architectural plans and the wall type specific framing rules. The dimensioning and cutting information of the panels are generated automatically providing accurate and detailed manufacturing information quickly and efficiently. This guarantees that the framing components will be compatible with the rest of the plan and every component will fit in place at the construction site reducing delays and speeding up the entire construction process.

FLOOR FRAMING
The floor framing layouts are automatically generated based on the floor deck areas and the associated framing parameters defined by the user. The automatically generated joist layout can be easily customized by inserting, cutting, trimming and deleting pieces. The joists are labelled and the accurate cutting schedules are generated automatically. These powerful and productive design tools allow you to provide your subcontractors with detailed floor joist layout drawings and cutting information, helping them to frame the floor to be compatible with your design – with the minimum waste of materials.

ROOF FRAMING
VERTEX BD can generate both the roof truss and rafter layouts. The automatically generated layouts can be easily modified similarly to the floor framing and all the components are labelled and schedules are generated automatically. Roof truss profile drawings are generated based on the geometry of the walls, ceilings and roofs. The 3D model allows you to verify and adjust the roof framing components to be compatible with the other parts of the building – a good example of the quality engineering capabilities VERTEX BD can provide.

MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION
VERTEX BD is a highly automated framing design tool for wood and light steel gauge structures. Its user definable, rule-based framing system generates all framing plans, materials, panel manufacturing information and cutting lists for design, construction and manufacturing. All our customers have increased their productivity

OPEN - ADAPTABLE - CUSTOMIZABLE
VERTEX BD is an open and customizable software system. It can be adjusted to your company’s specific design, construction and manufacturing requirements and processes. VERTEX BD will increase the productivity of your whole company.
